 “I spent a year working with Ellie on improving my cardio and endurance so I could make it through a three minute free programme. She pushed me hard, and within about 3 months I could do a run through without feeling out of breath at the end and be ready to go again after a two minute break.

Ellie hadn’t trained a figure skater before, and it was especially challenging for me as I’d had about 10 years out to start a family. But she did the research and checked what I needed to work on to improve my on ice performance and went for it. We had so much fun with plyometrics, and the work really paid off as my jumps are stronger now than they’ve ever been.

There were times when things weren’t going to well, or I was injured. But Ellie’s flexible style meant I didn’t lose out on training and we focused on other areas, like core strength and flexibility.

She’s a great trainer and really brings out the best in people. Without her as part of my team, I don’t think I’d have made it to the Adult ISU Competition in Vancouver this year where I placed second.”
